Information for the South Carolina
Educational Opportunity Programs

All students deserve the chance to pursue postsecondary education to expand their knowledge, skillset, and prospects for the workforce. SC Educational Opportunity Programs are designed with the goal of providing every prospective student in South Carolina the opportunity to attend an educational program.

It is the responsibility of each college or university to inform their representatives of the CACRAO Code of Ethics. The Code of Ethics will be in effect at all CACRAO Educational Opportunity Programs, and is applicable to all participating organizations, whether or not they are CACRAO members. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in disciplinary actions including, but not limited to, supervisory notification, vacating the event without refund, or expulsion from the Educational Opportunity circuit of the representative or the institution without refund. Schedules are subject to change. It is the responsibility of individual institutions and their representatives to check back regularly for the final schedule as each Ed-Op week approaches.

Calendar Access Fee

The Calendar Access Fee is not a new CACRAO fee. Instead it is the renaming of what was previously called the Ed-Op Registration Fee. This fee is a general fee that each institution is required to pay to participate in any of the Ed-Op programs in South Carolina (an separate fee is required if participating in programs in North Carolina). The fee has been a part of the Ed-Op registration since the early 2010's and helps to cover any additional and/or unexpected costs that are incurred at Ed-Op programs. This includes, but is not limited to, cost of buses transporting students, tables used at programs, water and snacks for representatives, rescheduling due to hurricanes or other natural disasters, and much more. The current Calendar Access Fee structure is listed below:

  • CACRAO Member Institution: $400.00
  • CACRAO Non-Member Institution: $600.00
  • CACRAO Community College Member Institution: $200.00
  • CACRAO Community College Non-Member Institution: $350.00

Please be mindful, that the Calendar Access Fee is not the only payment that will be required to participate in the Ed-Op Programs. Each program has an additional fee based on the costs associated with each specific program.

StriveScan Partnership

CACRAO is continuing our partnership with StriveScan to bring their student barcode scanning technology to all of our Ed-Op events in North Carolina and South Carolina. Scanning is included in your registration fees for all Ed-Op events. You’ll receive more information directly from StriveScan on set-up, scanning at fairs, and more closer to the start of the circuit.
